In a rare act of integrity the officer safeguarded the case and returned it to the victim.
Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Funtua LGA, Katsina State, have successfully recovered and returned ₦6.2 million cash and other valuables found at the scene of a fatal accident along Gusau–Sokoto Road. The crash at Dikke village resulted in two deaths and left 16 injured after the driver lost control due to brake failure.
FRSC personnel quickly arrived, evacuated victims to Sarkin Maska Hospital, and retrieved four mobile phones valued at ₦550,000. Acting Sector Commander Ali Murtala praised his team’s professionalism and honesty in returning all items to their rightful owners.
A grateful victim commended the FRSC officers’ integrity, calling their actions exemplary. The Corps also urged motorists to regularly maintain vehicles and obey traffic rules to prevent similar tragedies
