Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name as Patoranking, was recently appointed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Africa as a Regional Goodwill Ambassador. For two years, Patoranking will primarily champion youth innovation and enterprise development, the timbuktoo initiative to build the innovation ecosystem in Africa, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


Nigerian reggae dancehall star, Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, widely known as Patoranking, reflected on his challenging journey to fame, recounting how he once hawked goods on the streets of Lagos alongside his father to make ends meet.
Speaking during his acceptance as the UNDP Goodwill Africa Ambassador for Youth Innovation, Enterprise, and the SDGs at the Timbuktoo Fintech Hub launch in Lagos, Patoranking emotionally recalled his humble beginnings in Ebute Metta. He emphasized the transformative power of perseverance and determination, urging African youths to harness their talents for community and continental development.


Patoranking’s appointment underscores his commitment to fostering unity across Africa through his music collaborations and advocacy for a borderless continent.
