MOSES UNILAG 2024: Group Set To Unlock Business Potentials Among Students

Date:

In the face of Nigeria’s current economic uncertainties, a group, Optimistic Outlook For Niger Delta is poised to offer students in tertiary institutions some soccur with it’s maiden edition of MotivaComedy Students Entrepreneurial Summit, MOSES UNILAG 2024.
The free summit holds at the Afe Babalola Auditorium, University of Lagos on December 4th, 2024 at 10 am prompt.
It’s a platform where entrepreneurial initiatives will be nurtured and harvested. Organizers say that 10 students will pitch their business ideas in the campus.
The theme of the summit is: “Mindset Change: From Job Seekers to Job Creators.”

The event Coordinator, Mr. Somi Uranta, and founder/CEO of Somi Steam Car Wash/Bar, Oregun, visited the University of first choice last week to finalize arrangements. They were received by the Dean of Faculty of Arts, Prof Akanbi Mudasiru Ilupeju, the Sub Dean, Dr. Ogunjewo Henry B, the Head of the Department of Philosophy, Prof Chiedozie Benjamin Okoro and some students Union Leaders, with a promise that they will do everything possible to make the event successful.
They also pledged to support and mobilize the students’ population to attend the free summit. The aim of the summit is that 10 students whose business pitches are the best will get a three months apprenticeship, mentoring, and start-up funds to expose their business ideas to the larger Nigerian community.

The University of Lagos is just a take off point of what is expected to be taken round Nigerian tertiary institutions in the six geo- political zones of the country.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Uranta said, “the December 4th edition which will take place here, is just the starting point of what we intend to take round the country. We are starting here because UNILAG is the University of first choice in Nigeria, and it is only natural that being an Akokite myself, charity must begin from home. Great things starts from here first,” he said.

According to Uranta, this is not the first time MotivaComedy is organising such summit. It has been on it for the last 12 years.

There had been previous editions on November 8th, 2023, where Motivacomedy took place and would-Be – entrepreneurs at Marriot Hotels, Ikeja GRA to highlight the secrets in real estate and export business, partnering with the likes of the Association of Small Business Owners of Nigeria-ASBON, Corporate Affairs Commission-CAC, The Nigeria Export Promotion Council-NEPC, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund-LSETF and a host of others.

For this entrepreneurial summit, cooperate bodies and individuals in the business ecosystem are billed to help the students the spirit of enterprise.
