Diamond Bank supports corpers’ SAED initiative

Diamond Bank Plc, has rewarded a set of youth corps members for the fifth consecutive time, under the National Youth Service Corps Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (NYSC SAED) initiative.

Speaking on behalf of the bank, Mrs. Ogechi Altraide, Head, Sales, said the  bank understood that the youth constitute about 60 per cent of the nation’s population and are the driving force of the economy.

She further stated that the NYSC SAED initiative was borne out of the bank’s love for the youth and passion for grooming young entrepreneurs who will become employers of labour and business leaders of tomorrow.

She said the bank is doing a lot to ease the pains of young graduates’ job search which was why it created the first ever curriculum vitae (CV) bank that allowed young graduates to upload their CVs to a digital bank where employers can easily access the documents for employment purposes.

“The edge I have in business today is as a result of the trainings and funding I got from Diamond Bank’s full scholarship to the Enterprise Development Center (EDC) which fortified me for the task ahead,” said Mr. Abiodun Folawiyo, a past winner of the Building Entrepreneurs Today (BET) programme, another platform through which the bank grooms and supports young entrepreneurs.

He encouraged corps members to tap into the SAED programme to enable them stand out in the country’s tough business terrain.

Prince Mohammed Momoh, the NYSC State coordinator,  charged the corps members to participate actively in all activities of the day and make sure they pass out better than they came.
