The Ishaka hotel situated along Refinery road, Effurun, Warri, recently played host to dignitaries within the Rotary community and beyond. It was the investiture ceremony of the 25th President of the Rotary club of Ekpan, District 9141.
The event which had all the trappings of a celebrity gig had In attendance was PDG, PAG, AG’S, Rotarians , Rotaractors and interactors from the district. It was also an avenue for high profile networking as notables from outside the Rotary club had great time.
In the typical style of Rotary International, the highlight of the occasion was the official handing over of the mantle of leadership and baton from the outgoing President to the new one.
So, it was the turn of Rtn Osaro, the outgoing President to hand over to the incoming President, Rtn Omoregie Isioma Josfyn. Accordingly, Rtn Omoregie, the newly installed President will steer the big ship of the club for the Rotary year 2023/ 2024.
Remarkably, this particular ritual drew huge applause and cheers from the crowd as it was the main feature of the day.
Traditionally, there is the Rotary Club star project set aside for the year. For the Rotary club of Ekpan, District 9141, their star project is the purchase of Prostrate Cancer Screening Machine for Ekpan General Hospital, Ekpan.
The project was launched at the investiture ceremony by the Chairman of the occasion, Engr. Sir, Happy Agbeyi and ably supported by the zone 12 Assistant Governor. AG Lawrence.
Dignitaries were treated to sumptuous food, choice wine and delightful music.
