Mr. Chukwuma Onuekwusi graduated from University of Nigeria Nsukka, he also had a diploma in Mass Communication (Radio/TV Broadcasting) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and attended journalism courses in Nigeria and the BBC. worked with Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), Owerri, Imo State as an announcer/reporter/newscaster on radio and television. He joined Channels Television, Lagos in 1998.
He was the State House Correspondent, before his death. He died in the early hours of Tuesday 23rd May, 2017. A family source disclosed to us that Mr. Chukwuma has been ill for some time now before his death. He is survived by wife and Children.
Chukwuma was a prolific newscaster; he presented programmes like Politics Today. His reporting style and experience got him a nominee for the Nigeria Media Merit Awards in 2001 as well as coverage of the Abia bureau for two years.
