Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has named Chinese national Li Zhensheng as the state’s new Economic Adviser.
The governor made the announcement during a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre in Bauchi.
He explained that the initiative aims to open Bauchi to global partnerships, with plans to attract foreign investment and kick-start development across sectors like farming, education, health, industry, mining, energy, and commerce.
“This collaboration opens new doors for Bauchi. By bringing in international expertise, we hope to accelerate growth and unlock opportunities across vital sectors,” the governor stated.
Mr. Zhensheng, a seasoned economist with experience in international development, is expected to provide strategic guidance on economic planning, foreign direct investment, and bilateral cooperation initiatives.
The agreement with the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre is part of a series of economic diplomacy efforts by the Bauchi government to engage with foreign partners and diversify the state’s economy.
