Amina Kwagh-Hemba, wife of Abubakar Tsav, former commissioner of police in Lagos state, has died
Amina is said to have died on Monday at a hospital in Keffi, Nasarawa state, after a brief illness.
TheCable reports that Torkula Uke, media aide to the late Tsav, who confirmed the death, said the burial date would be announced later.
Amina’s death comes about seven months after that of her husband.
A Facebook user with the name, Heiress Ramatu Iveren, who identified herself as daughter to the late Amina, described the deceased as a caring person.
“My dad’s death didn’t hit like this. I was closer to my dad than my mom. At this age, I was still his little girl. After my dad, I made it a duty to call her everyday, sometimes twice a day. There was this day I called and I heard joy in her voice when the girl told her I wanted to talk to her,” she wrote.
“Just like daddy, she will always ask how are you and the children. I remember last year told her I will come and see her in September, and she said I shouldn’t come because of the surgery I had. Planned for Christmas and that was when I was down with COVID, and she was admitted, but I still kept calling though I couldn’t speak to her.
Deep inside me, I’m happy she has gone to join her husband, and her mom who also died April last year, the pic and video of her that was sent to me on new year’s day, I knew it was over for her. My prayers changed to ‘God, let your will be done.’ She fought a good fight. In the midst of it all, I told myself I’m now an orphan and all alone, but then I remembered I have God. Daddy, mummy, rest in peace. You are truly in a much better place.”
In another Facebook post, Heiress Ramatu Iveren wrote, “Sleep where are you,you too have left me…..
I have not gotten over my dad, now this God please help me, this is too much for me
Tsav, a former federal commissioner of the public complaints commission, died in June 2020 at the age of 82.
Until his demise, Tsav was outspoken on governance policies, especially on security matters.
